An overview of the aims of antenatal care, how it is organised, who does it and routine tests/investigations. Also a summary of the various methods that we use to monitor the well and at-risk fetus.

PBL - An acute gynaecology referral
A local GP refers you a woman complaining of pelvic pain. Read the referral letter and work through the questions on your worksheet before the tutorial.

Download the case presentations, complete your background reading & try to answer the questions before the tutorial.
Tutorial 4
Deep dyspareunia
A local GP sends you a referral to see a patient with deep dyspareunia. Answer the following questions before the tutorial:
- How should the administration staff prioritise her appointment?
- What are the differential diagnoses?
- What specific points do you want to know from this patient's history to help you work out the likely cause for her pain?
- Read through the history findings. Does this help you with your differential diagnosis?
- What do you want to look for when you do a clinical examination?
- What investigations are appropriate?
Tutorial 6
50 Questions review
Take a look at the 50 Questions in O&G. It would be a good idea to start working through these from week 3 onwards. These are common topics that I would expect you to be able to talk about by the end of your attachment. We won't be able to answer them all, but can go through any you are unsure about.
